Staff Project: Summer Top knitted in King Cole Linendale Reflections

This is Black Sheep Lorraine's very first staff make. She is always wearing something hand knitted in the shop, usually a lace detail 4ply number with a favourite Ravelry pattern. When she knitted the Ranunculus sweater with Stylecraft Naturals Bamboo and Cotton held with Rico Make It Blumchen she caused quite a stir. Check out our Instagram here, for a photo of Lorraine wearing said top. She is always here for the inspiration!

For her first staff make, Lorraine has chosen King Cole Linendale Reflections. Already a fan of a linen blend yarn Lorraine couldn't wait to try it for summer.

Name: Lorraine
Pattern: King Cole 5989
Yarn: King Cole Linendale Reflections
Shade: 5644 Fewston
Size: 36" - 38"

What attracted you to this design?

The asymmetrical design, with one side panel of lace. I liked that it was something a bit different.

How did you find the pattern?

It was an easy knit and I made no adjustments.

Have you used this yarn before? How did you find it?

It's my first time using this yarn. I found it fine to knit with, a little bit splitty but that's the norm with cotton / plant based fibres. It creates a good stitch definition and beautiful colour range.

Would you recommend the pattern to someone else? Would you make it again?

I would recommend it someone who wants an easy knit, or if you are learning lace knitting. There is just one panel down the left front and the rest is stockinette.

How do you plan to wear your new top?

With a pair of cream linen trousers on holiday in Scotland. The Linendale Reflections is the perfect colour for that, it reminds me of heather.

What do you plan to make next?

My next make will be the Isabel top by the Knit Purl Girl on Ravelry.
