Knitting Claudia's style from The Traitors Series 3

With the Traitors Series 3 now over, (how exciting was the final!) We are now reminiscing over outfits worn by Claudia Winkleman throughout the episodes. Her ‘Traitors style’ is perfect inspiration for this time of year, Gothic countryside chic all in one! Mix your knitwear with heritage tweed, sharp tailoring, leggings or a pair of chunky sole boots then you have The Traitors style sorted. We have Claudia Winkleman's stylist Sinead McKeefry to thank for this. It has added to the enjoyment of watching the series each week spotting stylish jumpers, hats and mitts in various episodes. Pondering which knitting patterns and yarns could create a similar look. Perhaps not as much knitwear as in series 2 of the Traitors, but there is still plenty to warrant a Traitors knitwear blog post. Claudia’s fingerless mittens alone could cover this. It has us all wondering how many pairs is potentially too many (if there is such a thing). Is one pair per outfit too much?

We have highlighted a selection of knitted garments and accessories worn by Claudia and found similar hand knitting patterns. Then we can all enjoy knitting our way through series 3 of BBC The Traitors.

Fair Isle Yoke Sweater

A stand out piece has to be the stunning fair isle yoke jumper. Whilst watching it the first thing that sprung to mind was the Petiteknit Celeste sweater. A higher neckline to the one worn by Claudia Winkleman but this could be easily shortened. This isn't our only fair isle yoke sweater pattern find. Take a look below at two more suggestions.

West Yorkshire Spinners Fable Aran Xanthe jumper

Relaxed Round Neck Sweater

This could be your go to style for when you are looking to knit a sweater and want something simple. An easy to wear relaxed round neck sweater is just what you need.

If you are a fan of Petiteknit patterns or a top down knitter, take a look at the Monday sweater by Petiteknit.

Green Cable Tank Top

This cable and bobble tank top has all the textures going on. We couldn't find an exact cable and bobble design, however we have you covered for texture and cables in separate designs.

A fabulous textured tank top in King Cole Homespun DK that can be knitted as a v neck or round neck. Choose a khaki shade of Homespun and pop on a white shirt.

If a cabled tank top is more your thing then how about the Ilkley cabled vest in West Yorkshire Spinners Blue Faced Leicester DK?

Fair Isle Jumper

Choose a similar colour palette to the fair isle jumper worn by Claudia Winkleman and choose one of these two fabulous designs.

The Bessie sweater in Rowan Felted Tweed is a sensational example of fair isle knitting. Definitely one to add to your to knit wish list for safe keeping.

A second fair isle pattern from Rowan - Digley from Magazine 76, this one is knitted in Rowan Alpaca Classic. With the shade Feather Grey as the background this would look amazing.

Oversized Polo Neck Jumper

Who remembers the episode when Claudia wore the dramatic black ruffle skirt? Worn with a cosy over sized polo neck charcoal grey sweater.

Whitehall in Rowan Brushed Fleece is a favourite pattern of Sara's. Especially knitted in the charcoal grey shade 'Rock'.

PetiteKnit Amy sweater is another great alternative. Knit this in your favourite DK yarn.
Cast on the size above for an over sized fit in Stylecraft Fusion Chunky. This Stylecraft pattern can be knitted with a round neck or polo neck.

Flower Jumper

Replicating the flower jumper worn by Claudia can be achieved through surface embroidery or intarsia knitting. Kaffe Fassett springs to mind when it comes to bold floral designs. We have just the book - Rowan Say it with Flowers

There are cardigans, jumpers and scarves featured in the book. All of the patterns are available as digital downloads too including this jacket.

How about embroidering floral motifs onto your crochet or knitting? This crochet cardigan is from Scheepjes Bookazine Romance book

Beanie Hats and Fingerless Mitts

The one thing we are finding it hard to resist knitting multiple pairs of after watching the Traitors is fingerless gloves or fingerless mittens. Claudia wears these so easily with all of her outfits. This year beanie hats made an appearance once or twice for outdoor tasks.

This pattern has both a knitted hat and fingerless mitts and there are cable mittens. All knitted in King Cole Homespun Prism DK.
West Yorkshire Spinners pair of mitts in The Croft Aran yarn are very Claudia esque. The pattern comes with the option to make your fingerless mittens into covered mitts.

One more pattern for a hat and mitten combination. Knitted in Stylecraft Grace Aran.

Faux Fur Coat

One more for fun! Okay, so this is not technically a knitted garment, We simply couldn't resist sharing a Sirdar Alpine furry jacket pattern to replicate the dramatic shaggy fur coat worn by Claudia.

Teddy bear coat in Sirdar Alpine. You may need a few more balls to get the floor length of the fur coat.
