100 Essential Crochet Motifs by Cassie Ward | Book Review
If you love to crochet and get creative with making your own designs then this book is for you. When we say designs, not necessarily creating a jumper from scratch, but something like piecing motifs to make a bag or blanket, perhaps? There are so many things you could make quite simply by patch-working motifs together. This book will get your creative juices flowing!

We were sent an advance copy of Cassie Ward’s brand new book 100 Essential Crochet Motifs to review as part of Cassie’s book tour on Instagram. After enjoying crocheting a selection of motifs from the book I thought it would be nice to share a review of the book here on the blog.
The patterns are beautifully laid out in the book, each pattern getting it's own page. With varying shapes of motif grouped together on consecutive pages. There are squares, hexagons and triangles to make in a multitude of exciting designs.

Cassie has rated each pattern with a 3 dot system of difficulty , one dot for easy, two dots for intermediate and 3 dots for advanced. This helps to navigate the patterns that fit your skill set. However, don’t feel restricted by this, her patterns are easy to follow. You may surprise yourself when you have accidentally taken on a 3 dot pattern and cracked it in one go!
Each crochet motif comes with written instructions and a chart. Having both options to hand is super helpful. If you have never followed a crochet chart before it is a good opportunity to give it a try when the written instructions are there to reference.

It's a great book for learning new things and picking up tips to improve your crochet. I feel like there are so many more motifs I want to make already. Catch up on Cassie Ward's book tour on Instagram @themissingyarn to see what others thought of her book and which motifs they chose to make.
