Holiday Makes - What to knit, crochet or stitch on your holiday?

We have got you covered for knitting, crochet and stitching on your holiday this summer. We are looking at small, portable projects. The kind of things that don't take up too much luggage space but will keep your crafty mojo going whilst you are away.

These holiday makes ideas would also work as a project to have on the go while you are out and about any time. Whether it is on public transport or being a passenger in the car, a waiting room, hairdressers, even a day at Wimbledon! Generally something that is easy to work on while you are on the go. Some may not be quite as small as others but you get the idea.

Honeycomb Scarf

The Honeycomb scarf is an easy knit scarf knitted in cotton 4ply yarn. Designed by Martin Storey.

Crocheted Jewellery

Pick up your favourite 4ply or even lace weight yarn to crochet a beaded necklace or pair of earrings. The Folklore Jewels designed by Claire Montgomerie.

Knitted Socks

Winwick Mum aka Christine Perry is the Queen of socks. We have two exclusive designs from Christine that could be your next sock project. Choose from our 40th anniversary 'Ruby socks' or lace detail 'Adeline socks' patterns.

DMC Embroidery Kit

If you enjoy embroidery then we have two fabulous new kits from DMC that make us feel super summery. Romantic Tulips and Romantic Poppies come with a hoop that you can use for stitching and then display when finished.

Halina Shawl

The Halina shawl by Lynne Rowe is a pretty lace shawl with a beaded edging. The great thing is it takes just one ball of Scheepjes Whirl so you only need to carry the one ball with you.

Crocheted Bucket Hat

Crochet a bucket hat and wear it while on holiday in Sirdar Stories DK. This granny square design will look different depending on which way you use your colours. Add more or less, you could even do it one colour!

Cross Stitch Bookmark

DMC have recently launched a collection of famous artist's paintings as cross stitch designs. Included in this are a selection of cross stitch bookmarks. This would be the perfect project for on the go.

Janie Crow Patterns

Jane Crowfoot's blanket, cushion or shawl patterns are great little on the go projects. Not too hot to hold when working on individual motifs. We love the idea of taking just a couple of balls of yarn away and working on a handful of motifs to later come together as one big project. Janie Crow patterns  are just what you need.
