Orenburg Lace Knitting Workshop with tutor, Anniken Allis
Saturday 25th April 2026 | 10.15am - 4.15pm
Orenburg lace shawls are traditionally knitted from very fine yarn hand-spun on spindles from goats down. In this class we'll look at a brief history of Orenburg lace shawls and you will practice working different traditional Orenburg lace stitches, reading lace charts and knit a mini version of a traditional Orenburg shawl.
This class is suitable for confident knitters. Experience in lace knitting is not essential.
You will be given an Orenburg inspired shawl pattern to take home.
You will need to bring 3.5mm needles
Skills needed: Knit, purl, cast on and cast off.
There are 10 places on this workshop.
What's Included?
- Yarn, refreshments and lunch will be provided on the day. The workshop takes place at the Black Sheep Craft Barn in Warrington.

N.B. Sometimes due to circumstances beyond our control workshops and events may be cancelled. At which point the cost of your workshop will be fully refunded. We cannot be held liable for any travel costs incurred.
