WIP this way - Share your work in progress
We have introduced our ‘Finished for Friday’ hashtag and now it is the turn of #WIPthisway. A WIP, for anyone not familiar with the term quite often used for crafting is, ‘work in progress’. Sometimes you meet yourself coming back trying to figure out what all of the various social media acronyms mean! So we wanted to just make sure you knew where we were going with this before you continue reading.
We wanted a catchy Black Sheep hashtag for you to share your current knitting or crocheting that won’t quite be a #finishedforfriday, but is still something that definitely needs to be shared and celebrated. Randomly taking inspiration from the song “Walk this way” by Aerosmith. If anyone cares to sing along with their #WIPthisway project, even better.
It can also work as a handy little visual diary for yourself. If you have taken the same photo of the same section of your project for weeks on end, you will know that you haven’t actually knitted / crocheted anymore for quite a while and you are in need of an extra boost. Could it be time to put forward your #finishedforfriday and give yourself that extra push to have it finished in time for the following Friday?
If you have placed an order recently you might have noticed our #WIPthisway / #finishedforfriday postcard that has popped up in your parcel. For anyone wanting to share their projects on social media we wanted to give you a fun postcard to pop onto your post. One side says #wipthiway the other #finishedforfriday

A customer called Emma, on our Black Sheep Wools Facebook Make Along group shared a photo of her ripple crochet blanket in a serene colour combination of Sirdar Snuggly DK. Using the hashtag #wipthisway.
Yvonne shared this photo of her knitted Chevron blanket on our Make Along group with #wipthisway. At the start of lockdown in the UK we shared this fab pattern by Lynne Rowe as a free download. You can find further information on our Impromptu make along projects here.
Black Sheep Carmen shared a photo of the early stages of knitting the Rowan Arabella cowl, designed by Lisa Richardson. The pattern is available as a free download on our website. Carmen chose a rustic, autumnal palette of Rowan Alpaca Classic to work with.
An Instagram customer called Kath shared a photo of her #wipthisway. A knitted cardigan from Rowan Magazine 66 - Woolstencroft.
All parcels will have a postcard in from now so there's no excuse to share your latest makes with us. When you share your #wipthisway you can then flip the postcard and share your #finishedforfriday project and celebrate! Then be ready once again with #wipthisway when you start something new.
