Staff Project: Stripe Sweater in Sirdar Soft Down DK
A jumper to wear any day and everyday from Sirdar. This stripe sweater is a cosy, lightweight handknit in the lofty Sirdar Soft Down DK yarn. The yarn is a blend of 80% acrylic and 20% wool. Although this is a DK yarn the recommended needle sizes are 4.5mm and 5.5mm for this particular pattern, so it will knit up much quicker.
Black Sheep Rach is our shop manager. She can't knit herself, but couldn't resist a stripe jumper to wear on the shop floor. This is where Carmen comes in with her knitting skills. We asked both knitter, Carmen and Rach about the jumper. Read their answers below.

I like the casual loose fit style of the sweater. I love the soft fluffy feel of the yarn.
Why did you choose the colours?
I loved the cerise pink colour in the yarn. It is super vibrant - even if the jumper will look like Bagpuss!!

How do you plan to wear / style your new garment?
With black jeans and Converse.
Are you pleased with the outcome of your garment?
Yes super pleased :) it fits perfect!
What is next on your wish list?
Anything Carmen will make ;)

Carmen's answers
Was the pattern easy to follow? Did you have to make any adjustments?
It was easy to follow. I did have to go down a needle size to achieve tension. The only thing I would really say is to check your tension.

How did you find the yarn to knit?
It's a nice yarn to knit with. It has a good colour range.
Would you recommend the pattern to someone else?
Yes, it is a nice, well written pattern.
