Staff Project: Knitted Polo top in Rowan Softyak DK
Black Sheep Nic had her eye on this polo top sweater from the moment she opened Rowan Magazine 79. She was inspired by the current high street trend of rugby tops and liked the idea of having a knitted one herself. A smart piece of knitwear that is easy to wear in the office or with a pair of jeans at the weekend. Nic already has a cardigan knitted in Rowan Softyak DK that she has had for a good few years now. It has worn well and she loves the feel of it so was happy to have a second item knitted in Softyak.
Pattern: Rugby from Rowan Magazine 79
Shade: 248 Coast and 255 Albany
Size: 32" - 34"

Nic isn't a knitter herself so twisted the arm of a relative to knit this one for her. It was an enjoyable knit for Christine. The only thing she found a slight challenge was the neck as it is a separate piece to be joined on. There is the option to knit the top all in one colour with the collar and edging knitted in the same shade as the body.

Nic is pleased with the finished garment and plans to wear the knitted polo top with a pair of jeans. Her next hand knitted piece she hopes to add to her wardrobe is a cosy winter jumper. Do you have any pattern suggestions? There are so many fab new ones out for the winter. King Cole Flair Solo is definitely on Nic's knit list!
