Black Sheep Boutique Box - Adeline Socks By Winwick Mum

Okay, so the news is out. We have launched our Black Sheep Boutique Box, with an absolutely sensational sock pattern from the one and only, Winwick Mum. Eeek! This has been a work in progress for sometime and we are so happy to finally be able to share the news. We have been gathering a selection of rather stunning designs from friends of Black Sheep for many months now. It's all very top secret, but you are in for some treats.

Adeline Socks

Adeline Socks Seascape - Winwick Mum

The very first treat being the Adeline Socks by Winwick Mum. Equipped with her own shades of West Yorkshire Spinners Signature 4ply, a contrast colour and our very simple brief of "a pair of socks", Christine (Winwick Mum) soon whipped up a pair of beautiful lace socks. The Adeline socks have a lace panel up the front and from the heel up to the cuff at the back. The name Adeline means 'of noble rank, a princess'. This is wear the idea of a lace, shield like design came from "fiercely feminine" as said by Christine.
Sara chats with Winwick Mum about the socks and shares some top tips in the video below.

The sock is designed in the round and can be knitted with your preferred choice of socks needles. If you have never knitted socks before this could be the time to tackle your first pair. Being someone who knows a thing or two about socks, Christine has a selection of helpful basic sock tutorials on her blog and in her book Super Socks. When talking about the Adeline sock, Christine says - "These socks are constructed as top down socks with a heel flap and gusset. The heel is knitted in Heel Stitch which creates a durable, cushioned heel. Four sizes are given for this sock, and the length of the sock is easily adjusted for any foot."

As the is a an exclusive Black Sheep Boutique Box it doesn't just include a pattern and yarn. You will also receive some more special bits and bobs. In the video below Sara is unboxing the Adeline sock knitting kit. Find a bespoke stitch marker from Fripperies and Bibelots (colour coded to the yarn), flowering tea and a muffin recipe card.
