Week 3 Hob Hey Lane - A Day Out Knit Along Blanket by Sarah Hatton - How to follow a knitting chart
Are you ready for Week 3 of A Day Out KAL? Sarah introduces a new way of adding texture to your knitting. This block is one of the designs Sarah Hatton highlighted as being a favourite, in our A Day Out interview on a previous blog post. Sarah described this square as having 'simple textures'. This is the appeal of this square, nothing too complicated yet very effective.
The pattern for this block has both written instructions and a chart to work from. As this is the first week with a chart, Lynne Rowe is on hand with a fabulous new video for you. Lynne explains how to follow a chart row by row. Then, towards the end of the video she works through a row to show you the stitches in action. Perfectly explained as ever!
Sara has been on location in Culcheth this week at Hob Hey Lane, filming her latest snippet of local history. Watch this short video on our Facebook page. Every week Sara is also sharing her hints and tips for the weekly pattern release. Useful advice to read before you start out.
Don't forget to share your progress in our Facebook Make Along group or on Instagram #adayoutkal. The make along group is also a fantastic place to ask advice if you need it for a square. There may be someone in there who has already asked the same thing.
