Workshop Details
Knitting Styles Workshop with tutor, Alexandra Brinck
Friday 31st May 2024 | 10am - 4pm
Curious about Continental? Fascinated by Flicking? Terrified of Throwing?
In this workshop we’ll look at several different knitting styles (such as Continental, throwing, flicking, combination, Norwegian purling), as well as different ways of holding and tensioning the yarn. You’ll get a chance to explore your personal knitting style, and see if there are elements you would like to add or modify in order to make knitting as comfortable (and fun!) as possible.
You will need to bring your own knitting needles for working both flat and in the round. (Bring as many sets of needles as you want: straights, DPNs, circulars - whatever you want to experiment with!)
Yarn will be provided (4ply, DK and Aran weight), but feel free to bring any additional yarn you may want to knit with.
A professional mender, and a knitwear designer, Alexandra also teaches pro-menders and is a senior mender with theseam.uk. She is incredibly generous with her knowledge, and super passionate about mending and preserving your precious knitwear.
There are 10 places on this workshop.
