Sara's Monthly Project Update - July 2022

Sirdar Stories Hoodstock Hoodie

I’m delighted to tell you that, at last, I have finished my Hoodstock Hoodie. I know it has taken me ages and I’m not really sure why. It is now sewn together, blocked and I’ve worn it a couple of times already. It looks fab!

I did find it quite tricky to sew up as you can see the colour I’ve used ever so slightly on the seams. If I was going to make it again I would leave the ends and use them for sewing up.

Mode at Rowan Eve Sweater

This jumper (Eve from Mode Six) uses both Rowan Kidsilk Haze and Summerlite 4ply in a simple striped pattern. I haven’t used Kidsilk Haze for a long time and I had forgotten how beautiful it is. It feels so soft and light and gives such a lovely fabric. It works really well next to the cotton Summerlite. The pattern for Eve is also available as a digital download.

I do love knitting stripes as I am always trying to get to the next colour so end up zipping along. Hopefully this won’t take me too long to make!

Faded Lines Shawl

Now I actually finished this ages ago but, for some reason, I didn’t sew in the ends. I don’t know why, but I obviously got distracted by another project. The ends are now sewn in, it is blocked and ready to wear!

Scheepjes Terrazzo Blanket

I am enjoying making this so much. I am using a Terrazzo box and the small balls of yarn are super cute and so quick to knit up. I have made the pattern up and  a written format will be available when I’ve finished it. Meanwhile you can take a look at our YouTube all about it here.

Stylecraft Recreate DK Tank Top

I started this when I was flying to see my Mum & Dad in Portugal so I decided to omit the back cable to make it an easy plane knit. However I made a rookie mistake, I didn’t decrease the stitches and the back now looks massive! I’m going to knit the front and see how much bigger the back is, I think I may need to frog it and do the back again!

Scheepjes Sorbet Sweater

This has been my summer holiday project. You blend Whirl and Mohair Rhythm and it gives you such a gorgeous fabric. It’s simple to make and grows really quickly so hopefully won’t be on my hook for too long.
