Visible Mending on Knits and Wovens Workshop with tutor, Alexandra Brinck
Saturday 10th February 2024 | 10am - 4pm
Unleash your creativity and save your favourite garments all at once! Whether you prefer a delicate, understated aesthetic or bold, vibrant details, this workshop will let you explore different ways of repairing your garments.
We will look at how to repair both knitted and woven fabrics, and discuss which techniques are most suitable for different types of fabric. You’ll get to try a range of techniques, including duplicate stitch, darning, embroidery, sashiko and appliqué.
You will receive a toolkit containing everything you need for the day, including a range of swatches to work on, so there’s no need to bring anything with you. However, if you have a garment in need of repair that you’d like to work on, you’re welcome to bring that along.
A professional mender, and a knitwear designer, Alexandra also teaches pro-menders and is a senior mender with theseam.uk. She is incredibly generous with her knowledge, and super passionate about mending and preserving your precious knitwear.
There are 10 places on this workshop.
What's Included?
- Repair kit, refreshments and lunch will be provided on the day.

- Once purchased you will receive a letter explaining more about the day. Letters will be sent out nearer to the workshop date.
N.B. Sometimes due to circumstances beyond our control workshops and events may be cancelled. At which point the cost of your workshop will be fully refunded. We cannot be held liable for any travel costs incurred.
