Introduction to Sock Knitting Workshop with tutor, Marianne from Penny Stitch Craft
Friday 28th February 2025 | 10.15am - 4.15pm
If you have wanted to try knitting socks but felt unsure how easy they are? This sock workshop is the perfect place to start, I will introduce you to the techniques for making your first pair of socks.
We will be using DK sock yarn to enable a quicker knit, using 3.5mm (or 4mm) circular needles to knit with.
What is covered?
- Stretchy cast-on
- Twisted rib
- Knitting in the round with the magic loop method, this requires needle tips on 80cm circular.
- Heel flap and gusset decrease method.
- Decrease for toe shaping
- Kitchener stitch seam finish.
You will need to bring - 3.5mm 80cm circular needle (tight knitters may prefer to use 4mm instead), scissors, stitch markers and a pen to take notes.
There are 10 places on this workshop.
