Beaded Knitted Purse Workshop with tutor, Debbie Abrahams
Friday 6th October 2023 | 10am - 4pm
This course is suitable for knitters who can already knit and follow a basic knitting pattern but want to introduce beads into their knitting. Working on a small project you will learn how to knit in beads using two different methods. So be prepared for a very sparkly day out!
You will be given a selection of Rowan Cotton Glace yarns and Debbie Abrahams size 6 beads to choose from for your project so you can put together your own colourway. Help and advice will be given to guide you through this process and help you decide what are the most effective combinations.
The following techniques will be covered:
how to read beads and lace from a chart
the slip stitch beading technique
the hooking-in beading technique lace knitting
You will need to bring - Knitting needles, straight or circular (whichever you prefer), 2.75mm (UK 12) and 2.25mm (UK 13) Fine needle and sewing thread (for threading beads onto your yarn) Small crochet hook, 0.6mm or 0.75mm OR Oral B Superfloss (this will be provided by Debbie) Scissors and Stitch holder.
There are 10 places on this workshop.
