Sew Pretty, Beginners Embroidery onto Knit and Crochet Workshop with tutor, Jeanette Sloan
Friday 10th November 2023 | 1pm - 4pm
Embroidering onto your knits looks impressive but needn’t be difficult. This half day workshop shows you how.
Jeanette will teach you how to create eye-catching motifs using the simplest of embroidery techniques. She'll introduce you to a handful of basic stitches which you can practice to build your confidence. Then you'll use your imagination and new stitching skills to embellish onto knit or crochet and take an otherwise plain garment or project to another level. This workshop is aimed at beginners - so no previous knowledge of sewing or embroidery is needed. It's a great way to use up small amounts of stash yarn and is a fun way to add another crafty skill to your creative tool kit.
We'll supply all the materials needed on the day (darning needle, 4ply / DK yarn)
but will ask you to bring along a surface onto which you can stitch. For details see below.
You will need to bring A plain knit or crochet garment to work on and small scissors. It can be either hand or machine made but the fabric texture should be dense or solid so avoid anything lacy. A shrunken jumper is an ideal base for this class. Notebook and pen (optional).
