How to Knit Socks 3 Week Morning Workshop with Sally Hart
Thursday 9th, 16th, 23rd June 2022 | 9.30-12.30pm
This workshop will take place over three weeks with one morning workshop each week. By the end of the three weeks participants will have knitted a sock (or even two if you are really keen!) To attend the workshop you must understand the basics of knitting. It is not a beginners course. Participants will be expected to understand cast on, knit and purl stitches, and basic decrease methods. There is also an expectation that participants will do some additional knitting between workshops. Participants will need to bring a set of 2.5mm double pointed needles. Yarn will be provided.
In week one we will cast on using a stretchy cast on and start knitting the sock from the top down. In week two we will turn the heel and start the foot. The third week will be the toe and finally the finishing grafting.
There will be plenty of opportunity to discuss all things sock during the workshops, including looking at different needle methods and how to introduce patterns. At the end of the workshop participants will have completed the their first sock and will have the pattern and all the skills needed to complete the second sock at home.
Skill level: Participants must already know the basics of knitting - cast on, knit, purl and how to decrease stitches.

N.B. Sometimes due to circumstances beyond our control workshops and events may be cancelled. At which point the cost of your workshop will be fully refunded. We cannot be held liable for any travel costs incurred.
Please note if you choose to make a cancellation within 7 days of the event, you will still be charged.
