A special thank you must go to Emma Varnam, Christine Perry (Winwick Mum) and Debbie Tomkies for making Yarn Shop Day a massive hit once again. You brought amigurumi crochet, sock knitting and hand dyeing into store for a fun filled day!

The nominations have been released for the British Knitting Awards 2016 and we are super excited to announce………that we have been nominated in FIVE categories. This is a fantastic achievement and we are ever so grateful for your support so far. Without our lovely customers we couldn’t have reached this stage. We really appreciate you taking the time to vote and choosing us. It would mean the world to us if we won any of the following categories (or even all of them!) –

  • Best Online Shop
  • Best Local Independent Yarn Store: North of England
  • Best Knitting Blog
  • Best Website
  • Best Crochet Store

Also, at the very end of the form there is a box for you to choose your best ‘Yarn Shop Day’ experience. If you did make it down to the Craft Barn this year for Yarn Shop Day, then I do hope that you choose Black Sheep Wools for your vote. We were joined by some familiar faces from the crafting world including Winwick Mum, Crafternoon Treats, Sue Pinner and Beryl Weir who helped make the day special.

If you think that we deserve to win, please take the time to head over to the Let’s Knit website and fill out the form. There are lots of other great categories too, including best yarn and best pattern designer. Plus, don’t forget, when you vote you will automatically be entered into a fabulous prize draw, with the chance to win a £550 spa break or a yarn bundle worth £100.
