There are many great things about knitting and we all have our own particular favourite aspects. However, what is widely accepted as one of the best things is being able to work with a host of different fibres - from basic acrylics to sumptuous Angora. Falling nicely into the luxurious category are Cashmere wool and yarn.
Despite its rather luxurious nature, Cashmere yarn is incredibly popular with all levels of knitter, and it is so easy to understand why. As well delivering great warmth, it is silky smooth and feels tremendous against the skin. Lightweight too though, it is possible to create clothing and accessories for anyone.
Working with Cashmere wool and yarn is a joy too, particularly when in a blend made by the best design houses in the industry. With a greater resistance to pilling, intermediate knitters can have great fun with the yarn. Taking on dye very well too, some great colours can also be found, though natural fibres are exquisite too.
Cashmere wool and yarn from the big names
Debbie Bliss is certainly one designer which approaches Cashmere very well. Its Bella line is brilliant for example, which blends the Cashmere with cotton and silk for a beautiful yarn. Its Baby Cashmerino is almost immeasurably soft too.
A similarly luxuriant offering comes from Sublime, and its Cashmere Merino Silk DK, though there are many more excellent wools to consider. With Rico and Rowan both having some wonderful products to work with, it is easy for all crafters to discover just how enjoyable it can be to knit with Cashmere wool and yarn.
Here at Black Sheep Wools, we help all knitters to discover Cashmere, Angora, alpaca and many more exciting fibres. We also focus on price to ensure our loyal customers never have to run out of the materials they need.
