I have a double #tryitTuesday to share today! The Black Sheep Wools “models” have had a busy trying on session. These gorgeous garments have kindly been sent to us by Kim Hargreaves for us to display in the Craft Barn. When Kim Hargreaves sends out display garments there is always a fun element of suprise when I open it. Although I know the parcel is on its way in the post, I don’t know what treats Kim will have packed in the parcel for us. Kim’s designs are always so beautiful and effortlessly stylish I am yet to be disappointed with the delights tucked up inside. Even when you know one of Kim Hargreaves’s garments isn’t really your style; the garment can still be admired for Kim’s impressive attention to detail and design.
The first garment from the book Spirit is a cardigan called ‘Stir’. Knitted in Rowan Panama – shade Tulip, a rich red shade of yarn that wouldn’t go amiss for a light layer in the winter months.
Lesley tried on the waterfall cardigan with a black vest top.
Colette popped the cardigan on over her blue blouse.
Stacey tried on the cardigan with the second #tryitTuesday garment too. A fitted top knitted in two shades of Rowan Creative Linen, called ‘Cool’. These two pieces look good worn as one outfit.
Colette tried it on in the sunshine with a skirt.
And finally Lesley!

Still is the latest book to be released by Kim Hargreaves. Kim’s books are a delightful picture book full of stunning designs, with the added bonus that you, yourself can have those stunning designs (with a little help from your knitting needles). The garments are always styled so beautifully, increasing the irresistable temptation to want to knit every single item in the book. Temptation is heightened here at Black Sheep Wools HQ when the sample garments arrive. For Stacey it was love at first sight when it came to the ‘Dark’ sweater, knitted in Rowan Kidsilk Haze. She just had to try it on and that was it, yarn and book purchased, ready to knit her own sweater. I took a photo there and then in preparation for our ‘Still’ #tryitTuesday.
The sweater really suits Stacey, she cannot wait to get the yarn on her needles.
Lesley tried it on too over her blouse.
I tried on ‘Black’ knitted in the light and airy Rowan Brushed Fleece. It would probably work better with a round neck long sleeve top.
Colette tried on ‘Dark’ too. She tucked in her collar a little to highlight the stand up collar on the knitted top.
There are 21 designs altogether in Still by Kim Hargreaves book. Take a look here at all of the patterns. A favourite of mine is the slouchy hat on the front cover, knitted in Rowan Fine Lace and Rowan Mohair Haze.

Kim Hargreaves’ latest book Honey was new in last month, and since then us office ladies have been ooohing and ahhing over the beautiful pattern selection. I do love looking through Kim Hargreaves books and often find myself getting lost in the loveliness as I turn each page. After receiving the book Kim kindly sent out sample garments for display in the Craft Barn. One of which is this weeks #TryitTuesday, ‘Bibi’ – a cropped cardigan knitted in Rowan kidsilk Haze. It reminds me of the cardigan the Duchess of Cambridge wore for her evening wedding celebrations back in 2011. The cardigan is knitted with two strands of yarn at once which creates a slightly thicker finish than using one. This is also a bonus if you are tempted to get knitting ready to wear this summer. Using two strands surely means it will knit up faster! What do you think?
This week I joined in with #TryitTuesday. The cardigan felt lovely on and would be ideal for a cover up at a summer wedding.
Lesley tried on the cardigan with a white vest top, which created a nice, sleek silhouette compared to a bulky shirt.
Fresh back from her summer holiday Sophie also got into the spirit of #TryitTuesday!
