What are you knitting?

What are you knitting and stitching?

I asked everyone who works here at The Black Sheep the pickers, packers, craft barn and office staff this question last week and I can not believe the response I had. Nearly everyone here has at least one project on the go at the moment, the majority reeling off a long list when I asked them. Usually 2, 3 or even 4 varying projects.

I thought that it was just me who starts knitting a cardigan one night with the intention of keeping with the one thing, then the day after fancy a change and start crocheting. A few weeks later you have the back and a half a sleeve of the cardigan now located somewhere at the bottom of your knitting bag. In the mean time you have completed a scarf and started yet another cardigan! One day I will finish the cardigan……

Catherine who works in the Craft Barn brought in her knitting needles. At the moment she is knitting a stripey jumper for her son in Sirdar Click Chunky yarn, following a Crofter Chunky pattern (9380). For world book day he is dressing up as Horrid Henry at school. Catherine thought that the Click Chunky colours would be perfect to knit a jumper just like the one Horrid Henry wears. The only tricky part will be matching up the stripes on the front with the sleeves, something which Catherine has already worked out. I can’t wait to see the finished jumper.

The pattern is a Sirdar Crofter Chunky pattern 9380 and the yarn is Sirdar Click Chunky in 165 Marine Blue £1.68 a ball and 186 Sunshine £2.58 a ball. Both the Crofter Chunky and Click Chunky share the same needle size and tension. Using a different chunky yarn with an alternative chunky pattern gives you more options when choosing what to knit.

Fab, wondering if our children go to the same schools! My daughter has a similar event coming up and wants to go as horrid henry. Do you think Catherine would share the measurements? Regards Jen
